I hadn’t even thought about becoming an artist until three and a half decades ago, when I was literally forced to take a weekend workshop by my employer. I went, very unhappily. I had no idea she would introduce me to something that has become a part of my life ever since. Deeply proud to be Canadian, most of my canvases depict scenes of my beloved country, from coast to coast. Living in the East Kootenays of British Columbia, mountains are my main subjects, however, you’ll see East Coast scenes too. I love the crisp colours, and old boats found in the Maritimes. Oil paints suit my traditional painting style best, but I do enjoy acrylics too, so I use both, depending on how soon a piece needs to be completed. I paint realistically, rarely painting a place I have not actually been, as I like to intimately know what I am applying to the canvas. Enjoy looking through my artwork which is presented here.
