Medium: oil on gallery wrapped deep canvas - framed
This item is sold online only. This 16x20 inch oil is done on a 1½ inch deep gallery wrapped canvas. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas to keep the continuity of the piece. It has been treated with Gamblin satin varnish to give it a soft lustre, lift the saturation of the oil paints and give an even surface to the painting. It also helps protects the piece from dust and UV rays. Kluane National Park is located in the southwestern part of the Yukon. There is a visitor centre located at the southern end of Kluane lake, on the Alaska Highway. A short stroll from there lies this old cabin, perhaps used by a prospector in the past. I’ve changed the look of it somewhat but had to keep the sod roof, which I love. Only high quality artist’s oil paints are used. The piece is framed with a front drop-in classic black metal frame. Paintings by Cecilia makes every attempt to reproduce the work accurately but individual monitors may change the exposure and colours slightly.
