It is set into a 3 ½ inch wide champagne coloured frame which enhances the neutral oil paints used in the piece. The beaches around Tofino provide a never-ending supply of material for the artist. To capture a wave on canvas is a skill that takes careful thought but needs a quick stroke of the brush, and palette knife, to make it authentic. This beach, by the Wickaninnish Inn, is the scene depicted here.
