I was asked to do a painting for the cover of a book published by Rocky Mountain Books. The painting depicts a hiker in the Tonquin Valley of Jasper National Park. I completed the painting a short time before the book went to print, and brought it in only to find out it was too thick to scan! This was my first go at a book cover, and I hadn't even thought about how it would be reproduced. Back to the easel, and, while moving from Alberta to BC, I finished another on canvas board in the knick of time. Thus the title, Mountain Odyssey, after the book of the same name. Number two was the one used for the cover. The painting is a nice size for a feature wall. It measures 20x24x.75 inches and comes to you unframed so you can add a frame of your liking to match your decor.
