This painting is a scene of a gorgeous vacation area in Poland, the Mazury. The Mazury, or Masuria in English, has over 2000 lakes, and is a very popular sailing destination. I went on a two week sailing trip there a few years ago, and it was such an incredible experience. The beautiful nature of the Polish lakes and countryside are simply breathtaking, and often we would pass these areas of dense grasses in the water, and this is the scene for this painting.
