Katie Rodgers

Katie Rodgers developed her artistic practice, building upon experiences images and insights during earlier travels in South East Asia. The paintings consist of drawings and photographs presented in abstract form to suggest atmosphere and emotions associated with specific locales. Current works include a geographical series which attempt to convey climate, habits and geography through colour, depth and detail, employing mixed media collage and vigorous application of paint.

Katie has been experimenting with acrylics for several years, independently as well as in workshops in BC, Ontario and Quebec. Katie is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a member of North Van Arts and the West Vancouver Community Arts Council.
