Clare Morgan

Craft

Clare Morgan (aka Clarity) is an Anglican priest, musician, and artisan living, creating, and loving on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ territory.

Clare is self-taught and has been making jewelry, wirework sculptures, and chain maille for about five years, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the wilderness and natural world, but most especially in ordinary things that often go unnoticed and unseen, like buttons, stones, and everyday household objects.

Clare’s most beloved pieces are called “blessing wheels.” Although some fans refer to them as dreamcatchers, that’s not what they are. Clare is of Scotch-Gaelic and English ancestry and seeks to avoid cultural appropriation, taking inspiration from nature, Celtic Christianity, and Gaelic Polytheism, all of which seek and find the beauty in ordinary things. Blessing wheels are made from guitar, harp, cello, or violin strings which Clare saves, forages, or is given by other musicians. Clare likes to think that the literal “good vibrations” of these strings, which once gave delight through music making, can live on as objects of beauty in your home, office, or garden. Clare then adds gemstones, branches, beads, found objects like buttons or small stones, and handcrafted wire letters. There are even small ones that can be worn as statement pendants or earrings! There are many sizes to choose from and each one is totally unique!
