Caroline Scagel

Born in Vancouver I was lucky to be raised surrounded by our beautiful West Coast scenery.
Primarily self-taught I have completed a Visual Art Media Certificate course at Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design. A variety of drawing courses through Langara College, The Vancouver Academy of Art, and ongoing studies through the Federation of Canadian Artists. My interest in exploring different media and techniques has lead to a variety of artwork with a constant theme of nature and animals.
My favorite mediums to work in are mixed media with digital painting to produce my original illustrations. I also paint on silk with silk dyes, still keeping to my favorite theme of animals and our West Coast landscape.
I currently work full-time painting and illustrating. My images are reproduced as Fine Art Prints, cards, and stationery. I also do live demos of my silk painting at art shows, outdoor markets (such as Granville Island), and with Parks Canada at Mount Revelstoke National Park Visitor Centre.
