Christer Waara

Christer Waara is a Swedish photographer who has lived in Canada for 25 years. He first trained in photography at the Bergnäs School in northern Sweden, and later in photojournalism at Stockholm University. Over a long career as a videographer with Swedish Television, CBC, and as an independent documentarian, he has shot award-winning pieces in 14 countries; now, he has returned to still photography, publishing his work in Geist Magazine and in several Swedish publications, and exhibiting in Stockholm, Luleå, and Vancouver. Through his photography, Christer is seeking out unique viewpoints and angles that tell a story in a captured moment, and reveal the profound, beautiful and unexpected details that hide within the everyday landscapes that we come to take for granted.
