While out in the backcountry that lies close to the BC/Alberta border we took a rutted old road up to this little used mountain lake. Two eagles cavorted above us and slowly moved off down the lake. I sat for a while at the lake edge in perfect peace, as there were no others around, and did a sketch of this lovely place. Some years later I took the sketch out and had made enough notations that, combined with the sketch I was able to recreate the scene. I usually have photographic reference to fall back on, but we were videoing so I was pleased I had done such a thorough sketch. This oil painting is 18 x 24 x .75 inches. It comes to you unframed so you can finish it as you like for the wall you have chosen for it.
