Aven Morken

As a fourth generation artist, the passion to create is deeply rooted in Aven's life. Aven's artistic skills were honed while attending a year of Art Foundations at Grant MacEwan, and by subsequently completing a degree in Interior Design from Mount Royal University. Wanderlust took her grandfather, a wildlife veterinarian, and his family overseas: where for twelve years he studied the spread of animal diseases in East Africa. Desiring a similar experience for his children, Aven's father took their family to Dubai for five years. Memories of traveling to the surrounding continents continues to influence Aven; sourcing some of her artwork inspiration from photographs taken by her family's time overseas.
