An en plein air painting done just outside Banff National Park. This sunny crisp day a few of us gathered to work outside while the weather was co-operative. Painting en plein air one has to paint fast as the sun moves, the clouds come and go, and so the shadows are constantly moving, giving different shapes to what you are painting. It's a challenge, but a fun one. Just to be out enjoying the surroundings is a pleasure. This little gem is 10x8 inches on a canvas panel which is about 1/4 inch deep, so pre-made frames are suitable for framing. It comes to you unframed. It's colourful, but not highly so, and fits nicely on a small wall, or in a grouping of paintings.
