I'll never forget that moment when my crayons melted in the sunlight. I was around 10. I took that idea and put my crayons into a muffin tray and put them in the oven. From there I discovered my aesthetic for experimenting with materials....to stretch the limits of that thing to see what else it can do. What kind of awkward beauty can it behold? I would spend nights melting crayons over candlesticks in my room, letting them drip on what ever I had in front of me.
My nights have changed since becoming a mom. I am hoping to find that little childish creative spark I once had.
