Riley Nicholson Art
Riley has lived in British Columbia his whole life, born in scenic Victoria he moved to Vancouver in 2010 to attend Emily Carr University. In 2015 he graduated with a degree in Industrial Design, not returning to fine art until 2018 when he taught himself to paint as a way to relax after work. Working almost daily to push his abilities he has completed nearly 30 paintings in under a year as well as completing cover art for 2 published books and illustrating an independent children's book. His main passion is trying to capture overlooked corners of Vancouver, grappling with the overwhelming positive and negative aspects that make up this city, from the beauty of nature to the sadness of unchecked poverty.
