Common Thread is a Vancouver-based non-profit society whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for people living with multiple barriers (physical, mental health and social challenges) through craft and sewing. We provide participants with opportunities for skills development and social connectedness as well support them to secure employment with their new skills or we integrate them into our in-house production program.
All the items in our store at the Pacific Arts Market were made by the participants of our Craftworks Program. This program offers the opportunity to earn supplemental income through craft making to people with multiple complex barriers, who are often homebound because of their health. Despite their challenges, our participants get a lot of joy and pride from making these items, and we are hope that they will give just as much joy to our customers.
